The context
Interlagos, round 20: the title is in Antonelli’s hands
The São Paulo Grand Prix (November 6-8) is the first of the last four rounds of 2026 and the first one after Mexico City, where Kimi Antonelli has his first chance to seal the championship. If he does it on November 1, Interlagos becomes his first race as world champion; if George Russell or Lewis Hamilton wins in Mexico and keeps the fight alive, Brazil is the next match point. The full context is on our 2026 season page.
The weekend is a classic format, with no sprint for once at Interlagos: practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday at 15:00 local (1 p.m. ET, 18:00 UK) and the 71-lap race on Sunday at 14:00 local, 12 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. in the UK and 6 p.m. CET.
Lando Norris is the defending winner after a 2025 weekend in which he took pole, sprint and race, while Max Verstappen charged from the pit lane to the podium. The anticlockwise 4.309 km circuit, with the Senna S and the uphill final sector, is known for sudden showers that can reshuffle a race.
The home crowd will be behind Gabriel Bortoleto, Brazil’s only full-time driver, in his second season and first with Audi.
