The context
The 60th CMA Awards, country music’s biggest night, take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The ceremony airs live on ABC and Disney+ from 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT until 11 p.m. ET, and lands on Hulu the next day. Lainey Wilson returns as host for a third consecutive year, the second time on her own.
This year belongs on paper to Ella Langley. Nominations, announced on September 10, give her nine nods, including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist, Album of the Year for Dandelion and two entries each in Single and Song of the Year with “Be Her” and “Choosin’ Texas”. Miranda Lambert follows with seven and Kacey Musgraves with five, the two of them also paired on “Horses and Divorces” in Musical Event of the Year.
The Entertainer of the Year race pits Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Ella Langley, Chris Stapleton and reigning winner Lainey Wilson against each other. Outside the country core, Taylor Swift is on the ballot with “I Knew It, I Knew You” in Single of the Year, while Morgan Wallen appears only in Musical Event, on “I Can’t Love You Anymore” with Langley and “McArthur” with HARDY, Eric Church and Tim McGraw. In New Artist, Avery Anna, Carter Faith, Emily Ann Roberts, Tucker Wetmore and Stephen Wilson Jr. chase the trophy Zach Top won in 2025.
The performer lineup had not been announced as of October 31. The anniversary edition also comes a few months after the death of Dolly Parton on August 25, 2026, at 80; a tribute is widely expected by the country press but has not been officially confirmed. Winners are voted by CMA members and will be revealed live on November 18. Sources: TV Insider, WSMV, Holler, Good Morning America, Entertainment Now.
