What the world Googles about celebrities reveals national obsessions

We analysed 40,941 real questions people ask about public figures — across four languages. The #1 curiosity isn't the same everywhere: English speakers want the love life, the French and Germans want the money, Spanish speakers want the family.

Methodology

We analysed 40,941 questions that real users type into search engines about public figures — from autocomplete and “People Also Ask” data collected by datastats across English, French, German and Spanish, spanning 850 public figures. Each question was matched to a theme using multilingual keyword patterns; about a fifth fall into these high-intent themes, and the breakdowns reflect that subset. Figures as of 2026-06-13.
