Margot Robbie: Everything You Need to Know
Margot Elise Robbie was born on 2 July 1990 in Dalby, Queensland, Australia. She grew up on the Gold Coast and got her first big break on the long-running Australian soap Neighbours before relocating to the US and landing a career-defining role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
From there, the roles only got bigger: Harley Quinn in the DC Extended Universe (Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey), an Oscar-nominated turn in I, Tonya (2017), another nomination for Bombshell (2019), and the cultural juggernaut that was Barbie (2023), which grossed over $1.4 billion worldwide and made her one of the most bankable stars on the planet.
Off-screen, Robbie co-founded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment with her husband Tom Ackerley and two other partners. The company has produced several of her biggest films, giving her significant creative control behind the camera as well as in front of it.
She is one of the most searched celebrities in the world, driven by curiosity about her personal life, her physical appearance, her accent, and, most recently, her pregnancy and the birth of her first child.
