Leah Remini
Leah Remini went from Brooklyn sitcom queen to Scientology's most relentless public critic, and the world can't stop searching for what she's up to next.
Who Is Leah Remini?
Leah Remini is an American actress, author, and activist best known for playing the sharp-tongued Carrie Heffernan on CBS’s long-running sitcom The King of Queens (1998–2007). Born on June 15, 1970, in Brooklyn, New York, she grew up in a working-class household and began acting as a teenager, landing small roles before her big break on the hit comedy alongside Kevin James.
Beyond sitcom stardom, Remini became a major cultural figure in 2013 when she publicly departed the Church of Scientology after more than 30 years as a member. Her 2015 memoir Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology was a bestseller, and her A&E docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath (2016–2019) won an Emmy Award and reignited serious scrutiny of the organization.
Remini has been married to actor and dancer Angelo Pagan since 2003. The couple have one daughter together, Sofia, born in 2004. She is one of the few Hollywood figures whose personal life, weight, pregnancies, and activism have all generated sustained, long-term public interest.
Her divorce-related searches spiked in the mid-2020s after tabloid reports about her marriage. As always with celebrity personal news, confirmed facts are limited, but the public appetite for answers is enormous, which is exactly why this page exists.
