Jayson Tatum
Jayson Tatum is the Boston Celtics' franchise cornerstone, a four-time All-Star small forward who turned a 2017 lottery pick into an NBA championship and one of the most searched names in basketball.
Jayson Tatum, Boston’s Cornerstone
Jayson Christopher Tatum was born on March 3, 1998, in St. Louis, Missouri. A McDonald’s All-American at Chaminade College Preparatory School, he played one season at Duke under Coach K before the Boston Celtics selected him with the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He never looked back.
Tatum announced himself as a legitimate star almost immediately, dropping 40-point games in the playoffs as a teenager and steadily building one of the most complete offensive arsenals in the league. He is a four-time NBA All-Star (2020–2024), a multiple-time All-NBA selection, and the 2024 Finals MVP after leading Boston to its 18th championship, breaking the franchise’s long title drought.
Off the court, Tatum is a proud and openly devoted father. His son Jayson “Deuce” Tatum Jr. regularly appears courtside at Celtics games and has become a beloved figure among Boston fans. Tatum’s personal life, particularly his relationship history, generates enormous search traffic, making him one of the most Googled athletes in the NBA.
His endorsement portfolio is equally elite: a long-running partnership with Jordan Brand, deals with Gatorade, and a signature shoe line put him firmly in the top tier of NBA commercial earners. On and off the court, Tatum is a genuine superstar, not just a Boston story, but a global one.
