Andrew Tate
Andrew Tate is the world's most Googled man, a polarising ex-kickboxer turned online influencer whose blend of extreme wealth-flaunting, hyper-masculine preaching, and serious criminal allegations have made him impossible to ignore.
Andrew Tate (full name Emory Andrew Tate III) rose from professional kickboxing champion to global internet phenomenon. Born on December 1, 1986, in Washington, D.C., he is the son of international chess master Emory Tate and grew up partly in the UK, giving him dual American-British identity. His brother Tristan Tate is his constant business partner and public companion.
Tate became a viral sensation around 2022 when short-form clips of him espousing hyper-masculine, anti-feminist views flooded TikTok and YouTube. He was subsequently banned from most major social media platforms before Elon Musk reinstated his Twitter/X account. The controversy only amplified his reach, he routinely claimed to be the most searched person on the internet.
His business empire is said to span The Real World (formerly Hustlers University), a subscription-based online course platform, as well as webcam/OnlyFans agency businesses he has openly described in his own words. He has also been heavily involved in cryptocurrency promotion and luxury brand content.
In December 2022, Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested in Romania. Romanian authorities charged Andrew Tate with rape, human trafficking, and forming an organised crime group, charges he has consistently and forcefully denied. Legal proceedings in Romania have been lengthy and ongoing; he has faced periods of detention and house arrest. The case remains active as of 2025, and no final verdict has been delivered.
Tate converted to Islam publicly in October 2022, a move that generated significant media coverage. Despite the criminal allegations and bans, his influence, particularly among young men, remains a major topic of cultural debate worldwide.
